The film, directed by Boots Riley, follows the story of Cassius ‘Cash’ Green, who gets a job at a call center in Oakland to pay his rent. Cash is faced with a dilemma: his coworkers approach him about unionizing, while his boss attempts to bribe him with a promotion. What follows is a hilarious, absurd romp.
Following the screening, we’ll have a discussion to connect the movie to our own workplaces and labor struggles.
The event is open to the public, so feel free to invite your friends! Members are encouraged to bring snacks and refreshments to share!
